Lenten services begin at Peace Lutheran

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Peace Lutheran Church, 1421 S. Bloomington St., Greencastle, will be joining Christians throughout the world by holding Ash Wednesday services today at 7 p.m.

Ash Wednesday is traditionally the first day of Lent, a 40-day season of repentance. Through worship and prayer, believers have the opportunity to grow closer to God. Lent is a time of healing and forgiveness. It provides Christians the chance to grow in the grace of the Lord. It affords each believer time to appreciate the significance of Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

Following Ash Wednesday, Peace will offer worship every Wednesday during Lent at 7 p.m. Pastor Barber's sermon series will be messages that focus on the theme "A God Who Cares." Members of the community are cordially invited to attend.
