Calvin Conrad Callahan, 82, Reelsville, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville.

He was born Dec. 13, 1926 in Vigo County, as the son of Arthur and Maggie Sinclare Callahan.

He had been employed until his retirement with Penn Central and Conrail railroad operations.

He was a member of the Eastside Christian Church, where he had been a Sunday school teacher and long-time elder. He had also been a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge.

He was married to Barbara Joan Higginbotham on Oct. 17, 1981.

His parents; three brothers Bob Callahan, Denver Callahan and Kenneth Callahan and one sister Hazel Price preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Joan Callahan; three children David C. Callahan (Bonnie), Linda A. Harms (Ron) and Timothy C. Callahan (Tammy); grandchildren Dava Boor, Russell Harms, Ryan Callahan, Troye Callahan, Shauna Crowley, Joshua Callahan, Stephanie Roberts, Jenna Callahan, Melinda Meunier, Molly Schopmeyer, Melanie McIlrath, Cheryl Rudisel, James Black, Sherry Black, Greg Black and Debra Willmouth; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Clearview Cemetery.
