The Greencastle Middle School swim teams competed against Danville Monday. The boys fell 99-86, while the girls lost 110-70.

"This was a tough loss," GMS head coach Kim Brattain said. "We were down in numbers due to illness and there were several races where we were 'out-touched.'

"That being said, I have to compliment the Warriors, both on their outstanding swim performances, as well as their good sportsmanship," she added.

Alex Asbell captured two events for the Tiger Cubs. He won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:28.75 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:05.86. Riley Boswell won the 50-yard freestyle in 29.67, with Nash Firebaugh taking the 50-yard butterfly in 29.10. Elijah Brattain won the 100-yard backstroke with the time of 1:18.48 and Caleb Robinson won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:21.21.

The 200-yard relay team of Boswell, Asbell, Lee Hayes and Cameron Hinton won in a time of 2:06.64.

For the girls, Harriett Watson was Greencastle's lone winner, capturing two events. She won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 30.37 and the 100-yard freestyle in 1:10.01.

GMS will host Cascade today at 5:30 p.m.
