Putnam County Jail

Gregory Reinhardt, 23, Terre Haute, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 2:56 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.

Kenneth Mundy, 39, Coatesville, was booked at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating per se and public intoxication.

Eric Kortz, 26, Greencastle, was booked at 4:02 a.m. Thursday for public intoxication, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.

Terry Hurst, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 4:16 a.m. Thursday for unlawful entry of motor vehicle, theft and public intoxication.

Warren Smith, 23, Brazil, was booked at 1:58 p.m. Thursday for failure to appear.

Nicole Chevrier, 25, Brazil, was booked at 2:26 p.m. Thursday for probation violation.

Gregory Kemp, 38, Greenfield, was booked at 2:37 p.m. Thursday for failure to appear.

Putnam County Sheriff's Office

Kenneth Short, Greencastle, was traveling south on CR 300E at noon Wednesday when a vehicle traveling north crossed the centerline. The report stated the driver "appeared to be texting on the phone." When Short attempted to avoid the oncoming vehicle, his tires slid off the roadway causing his vehicle to be pulled into a ditch and turn over on the left side. The second vehicle failed to stop. No injuries were reported at the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Marilyn Miller, Rockville, was traveling east on U.S. 36 at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, when a deer entered the roadway. Miller was unable to avoid hitting the animal. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Kristina Norman, Reelsville, was traveling west on U.S. 40 at 7:09 a.m. Monday, when a deer ran into the roadway. She was unable to avoid hitting the animal. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Samuel Brackett, Broken Arrow, Okla., was traveling west on Interstate 70 at 5:42 p.m. Saturday, when he struck the bumper of a semi-tractor trailer driven by Tarek David. The bumper of David's tractor-trailer sustained minimal damage, while the front of Brackett's vehicle sustained an estimated $1,001 in damages.

Grace Weber, Summer Shade, Ky., was traveling south on CR 725E at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, when she failed to negotiate a turn onto CR 520N. Weber's vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Monica Owens of Coatesville. Operation Life Medic One transported Owens and her passenger to Hendricks Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries. Floyd Township Fire Department crews assisted at the scene with treatment of injuries, traffic control and clean up of debris and fluid. Kenny's Wrecker service towed both vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Jennifer Martin, Bainbridge, was attempting to cross traffic at CR 500N and U.S. 231, when she entered traffic and struck vehicle driven by Matthew Donohue of Rockville. Martin was transported to Putnam County Hospital. Bainbridge Auto towed Martin's vehicle from the scene. Double D's Wrecker Service towed Donohue's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages. The accident occurred at 5:20 p.m. Friday.

David English, Greencastle, was traveling north on U.S. 231 at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when a deer entered the roadway. English was unable to avoid hitting the animal. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

The Greencastle Fire Department made the following runs Thursday.

Crews were dispatched at 12:59 p.m. to 412 S. Jackson St., for a fire alarm. It was disregarded while in route. They were back in service at 1:07 p.m.

At 2:45 p.m., crews were dispatched to 4794 S. CR 650W, Reelsville, for a barn fire. They were back in service at 6:11 p.m.

Crews were dispatched at 6:49 p.m. to 106 S. Spring St., for a fire alarm. The scene was cleared and they were back in service at 6:57 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 308 Medic Way at 9:03 p.m. for sewer gas odor. They were back in service at 9:28 p.m.
