Thelma M. Kennedy

Thelma M. Kennedy, 85, of Greencastle, formerly of Cloverdale, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Putnam County Hospital.

She was born in French Lick on July 20, 1923 to the late Herbert and Nora Ellen Martin Lashbrook. She married Kenneth Lawrence Kennedy on Nov. 17, 1942 and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1973.

Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and cook at Cloverdale Elementary School.

She is survived by a daughter, Glee Ellen Kerr and husband Bill of Cloverdale; a brother, Walter K. Lashbrook and wife Eldeana of Terre Haute; and three grandchildren, Rachel Barrier and husband Seth of Minot, N.D., Erica Lotz of Cloverdale and Tyler Kennedy Lotz of Cloverdale.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Gale Bloomhuff and brothers Edward D. Lashbrook and Richard O. Lashbrook.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Burial will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.

Calling will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
