Knitting for Nets says 'Thanks' for help

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

To the Editor:

Thank you to everyone who helped out with Knitting for Nets this year! You helped raise over $1,500 for the purchase, distribution, and education on the use of insecticide treated mosquito nets.

This amount will purchase 150 nets (matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation makes that 300) and save at least that many lives. Thank you so much to all to helped to knit, sell, and purchase scarves and a special thank you to Gobin United Methodist Church, St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Asbury Towers, and The Knit Stop and Mass Avenue Yarn Shop for spreading the word to Indianapolis knitters.

Thanks to all your scarf contributions we already have a sizable stock for next year's sales.

For more information on where the nets are being distributed visit: http://www.nothingbutnets.net/nets-save-lives/net-distributions/

Thanks again -- you are helping to save lives!
