Virginia L. Green

Virginia L. Green, 91, of Greencastle died on Tuesday, March 24, 2009.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1917 in Putnam County to Carl F. and Hazel Irene Gasaway Myers.

Mrs. Green was a 1935 graduate of Greencastle High School and was employed at Angwell Curtain Factory for many years. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Karen Wood and husband Alva of Greencastle, Gordon R. Birt and wife Shirley of Greencastle, Darryl Starr and significant other Lynette Shotts of Greencastle and Kevin Starr and wife Suzy of Greencastle; stepdaughters Cindy Treash of Kentucky and Crystal Green of Greencastle; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husbands, Charles Starr and Frank Green; son Doyne Lee Starr; grandson-in-law Alan Burns; great-grandson McKinley Charles Butler and two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
