Fundraising speaker coming to Greencastle

Nationally-known fundraising instructor and author Dave Sternberg will be in Greencastle on April 20 to present a workshop titled "Fundraising for the Future: Engaging Your Board in Sustainable Funding."

This workshop is a part of the Putnam County Community Foundation's Non-Profit Learning Series, which is geared toward community members who staff or volunteer with non-profit organizations, churches and units of government and who wish to build capacity in areas of fundraising, governance, marketing and more.

This workshop will explore fundraising techniques that will help an organization create sustainable sources of funding and how they should work with donors to achieve these goals.

This workshop will be held at Area 30 Career Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch catered by Almost Home.

The cost to attend is $10 per person and includes lunch and training materials. This normally expensive workshop is being offered at a reasonable price due in part to the corporate sponsor for the month, Teachers Credit Union.

"Now, more than ever, nonprofit organizations, churches and units of government need to find stable, sustainable funding to help them weather the turbulence of a down market and weakened economy," said Eric Wolfe, Director of Community Development at the Community Foundation. "This workshop should prove to be a valuable tool to any non-profit volunteers or staff who might attend, and Dave Sternberg is a veteran in his field for this type of fundraising."
