Carl "Bill" Loveall Sr., 69, of Carbon died Friday, April 24, 2009, due to complications following a heart transplant in November at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born March 9, 1940 in Clay County, the son of James Arthur "Art" Loveall and Mary Jane Crabb Loveall. On Feb. 17, 1961 he married Marcella Muncie Loveall, and she survives.

Mr. Loveall worked as a farmer and also at the Logan Clay Plant until 1980 when he had to retire due to heart problems. In the past, he was a volunteer for the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, camping and going to the Silver Sneakers group at the YMCA.

Survivors include his wife Marcella of Carbon; one daughter, Carla Chew and husband Kelly of Reelsville; one son, Carl "Bill" Loveall Jr. and wife Stephanie of Rosedale; two grandchildren, Dallas Chew and Breeanna Loveall; three sisters, Carolyn, Jewell and Patricia; four brothers, Larry, Ron, Jack Lee and Charles; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with his nephew, Robert Muncie officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Calling will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 and again Wednesday prior to services.
