Putnam County Jail

Marie Beaman, 45, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 2:08 p.m. Saturday for disorderly conduct.

Nicholas Toby, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 8:36 p.m. Saturday for theft.

Stacia Gibson, 42, Greencastle, was booked at 12:13 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Glenn Claxton, 45, Greencastle, was booked at 11:41 p.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Charles Sage, 23, Greencastle, was booked at 2:15 a.m. Monday for possession of marijuana.

Zikimo Jones, 31, Indianapolis, was booked at 4:49 a.m. Monday for possessing and dealing a controlled substance.

Almez Bently, 29, Detroit, Mich., was booked at 5:12 a.m. Monday for possessing and dealing in a controlled substance.

Kimberly Williams, 45, Indianapolis, was booked at 9:53 a.m. Monday for probation violation.

Debbie Shorter, 47, Elkhart, was booked at 6:01 p.m. Monday for trafficking with an inmate.

Robert Thomas, 39, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday for probation violation.

Kyle Poynter, 20, Mecca, was booked at 12:27 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Christopher Myers, Cloverdale, was traveling on CR 1000S at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday when his vehicle apparently attempted to avoid a tree that had fallen into the roadway causing it to roll over and land back on its wheels. The vehicle continued traveling west before it left the road and struck a utility pole. Myers stated he did not remember what happened and suffered facial bleeding and possible head injuries. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Allysia Loller, Cloverdale, was traveling south on U.S. 231 at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday when she attempted to turn into the parking lot of South Putnam High School and her brakes failed. Her vehicle left the road and struck a light pole. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Hali Gruener, Cloverdale, was traveling south on CR 400W at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday when she attempted to negotiate a curve in the road during heavy rain. Her vehicle went to the right side of the road, causing her lose control of the vehicle. It continued traveling southeast, into a ditch before impacting a tree and coming to rest. Gruener exited the vehicle with no apparent injuries. According to the report, Gruener was using her cell phone at the time of the accident. Damages were estimated at less than $750.

Shelby Deal, Freedom, was traveling north on U.S. 231 at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday when she attempted to extinguish her cigarette out the driver's window. She became distracted when the cigarette hit the top of the window causing her vehicle to drift left of center and strike a vehicle driven by Belinda Frazier of Greencastle. Deal attempted to swerve her vehicle to avoid a collision, but struck Fraizer's vehicle causing her to lose control and spin 180 degrees. No injuries were reported. Neither vehicle was towed from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Trevor Hewitt, Bainbridge, was heading south on Jackson Street at 8:53 a.m. Tuesday when a vehicle driven by Jack O'Brien, Greencastle, pulled out in front of him. Hewitt did not have time to avoid a collision and O'Brien's vehicle struck the passenger side of his vehicle. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Hewitt's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Annakatherine Bennington, Greencastle, was traveling east on U.S. 40 at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday when her vehicle struck standing water causing it to slide sideways before striking a utility pole. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Laci Benefiel, Fillmore, was traveling on U.S. 231 North at 1:32 a.m. Saturday when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. According the report, there was no indication Benefiel tried stopping or correct direction. Benefiel stated she didn't remember anything other than she was driving home. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Tim Wallace, Greencastle, was traveling north on Manhattan Road at 5:40 p.m. April 7 when his vehicle ran off the road, struck a highway sign, which went through the front windshield and into the passenger side of the vehicle.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 1008 S. Locust St. at 9:56 p.m. Sunday for an investigation of an odor believed to be gas. The source was located and removed. They were back in service at 10:54 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1601 Hospital Drive at 10:53 a.m. Monday for a medical assist with Operation Life. They were back in service at 11:24 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to U.S. 231S at 8:42 a.m. Tuesday for a two-vehicle accident, but were cancelled in route. They were back in service at 8:48 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Jackson and Walnut streets at 8:54 a.m. Tuesday for a two-vehicle accident. Crews had to pop a door to extract one individual from the wreckage. The crew was on scene until the extraction was complete and scene was cleared. They were back in service at 9:49 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1208 E. Olive St. at 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, but were cancelled in route. They were back in service at 1:03 p.m.
