Donald E. Dorsett

Donald E. Dorsett, 76, of Cloverdale died on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Putnam County Hospital.

He was born to Robert and Pauline Sims Dorsett on April 24, 1933, in Morgan County.

Mr. Dorsett retired from Allison in 1992, and had served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His interests included coon hunting, golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patty Terry Dorsett; daughters Rhonda McCammack and husband Mike and Andrea Moore and husband Robin, a son, Todd Dorsett; a brother, Ronald Dorsett and wife Linda; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Jeffrey Allan.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to may donate to Putnam Community Foundation Cancer Center Endowment or Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center.

Calling will be Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Donald L. Pearson Mortuary in Cloverdale with Graveside Services following at New Providence Cemetery.
