Velsie O. Fisher

Velsie O. Fisher, 89, of Avon died Monday, May 11, 2009

She was born Dec. 22, 1919 in Mooresville, the daughter of James and Beatrice Griffey Myrick. She married Floyd Fisher and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker and mother and had worked seven years as a teller/bookkeeper at Citizens Bank in Mooresville. She was a member of the Stilesville Christian Church and their Fellowship Helpers, Cartersburg Eastern Star, CWF at Danville Christian Church and the Tuesday Euchre Club.

Survivors include daughters Alicia Ball of Kansas City, Mo., Annetta Gregory and husband Rex of Danville and Marta Campbell and husband Kent of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Gene Myrick and wife LaDonna; and sister-in-law Rosie Myrick of Mooresville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery.

Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to either the Danville Christian Church or the Stilesville Christian Church.
