Hecko is great mechanic, person

To the Editor:

What a pleasant surprise to see an article in recognition of one of Greencastle's finest people, Jerry Hecko.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to have had Jerry work on our cars know that there are not enough complimentary words to praise this extra nice man.

He has gone out of his way more than once to help our family with a mechanical problem. Many times he has done small jobs that he refused to charge for, no matter how hard we tried to pay him.

It is quite refreshing to find that there are still some of those good old-fashioned people like my beloved dad among us.

Honest as the day is long, a fine job, decent, kind and with an enjoyable personality ... that's Jerry.

It is also amazing how Jerry can just listen to a motor and tell you what the problem is.

You know you can trust Jerry to repair your car. The job will be well done. You won't have to worry about sticker shock. He is fair as well as honest. You won't be overcharged.

Greencastle is blessed to have a man as trustworthy as Jerry Hecko. He is appreciated by many people and a friend to all who know him.
