Chocolates, diamonds, electronics part of PCCF meeting
Three downtown Greencastle businesses are making a difference to the Putnam County Community Foundation in a unique way. Treasures On The Square owner Lynda Dunbar is donating 150 boxes of homemade chocolates. Mason Jewelers owner Steve Mason is donating a diamond necklace. Shuee and Sons owners Bill and Brent Shuee are donating a new blu-ray disc player.
These three donations are the beginning of a fun raffle that will take place at the community foundation's annual meeting on June 17 in the Union Building Ballroom at DePauw University. North Salem State Bank and Therese Cunningham State Farm Insurance are the event sponsors.
The chocolate boxes will be for sale before and during the event at $10 each or three for $25. Inside one of the boxes is a certificate for the diamond necklace. Inside another box is a certificate for the blu-ray disc player. All of the boxes of chocolate will be opened on that evening in a highly anticipated reveal ceremony.
"We greatly appreciate these businesses donating such amazing items to make this an exciting raffle opportunity for everyone lucky enough to buy a chocolate box," said Eric Wolfe, director of community development at the community foundation.
All the money raised from the raffle will benefit the community foundation's administrative endowment. If anyone wishes to attend the annual meeting and purchase a chocolate box, contact the community foundation at 653-4978.
