Ginger Scott and Tina Williamson review a client account at Wabash Capital. The two professionals run the Greencastle office that provides investment management and advise to clients.

Wabash Capital, Inc. was established in 1999 by Ginger Scott and Joe Ferguson as an independent employee-owned investment management firm.

They provide customized investment solutions and portfolio management for a range of clients including individuals, corporations, banks, retirement plans, labor unions and endowments.

Since it's inception, Wabash Capital has grown to $120 million in client assets under management.

Three investment professionals, three client service professionals and two administrative assistants serve a diverse group of clients.

The Greencastle office is run by Scott who is the company's vice president. She is responsible for overseeing the administration of retirement plan services.

She and Ferguson decided to combine their talents in 1999 when they opened their office. Ferguson retired in 2002 but remains as a consultant for the company.

Before coming to Wabash Capital, Scott spent 18 years with Old National Trust as a Trust Officer. She received her B.S. in business administration degree from St. Mary of the Woods College. She has also earned an Accredited Retirement Plan Specialist (ARPS) designation.

She is a well-known face around Putnam County where she is actively involved in the community. She is on the Putnam county Leadership Council and the Wabash Valley Chapter Board of Directors. She serves on the board of the Mary Allison Children's Trust, is past president of Rotary and serves as Assistant District Governor of Rotary and is a past board member of the Putnam County Community Foundation.

Tina Williamson serves as administrative assistant and office manager of the Greencastle office. She is a graduate of Indiana Business College with an Associates of Applied Science degree in office systems management. She and her husband Chris reside in Putnam County.

She is active in Delta Theta Tau Philanthropic Sorority known for sponsoring the smoke house used by the fire departments to teach safety skills, the annual home tour and the sorority's famous cheese balls.

"All proceeds raised from the home tour and cheese balls benefit Putnam County," said Williamson.

She supports the client advisors by keeping the daily operations organized. She develops client meeting presentations and reports and is a resource to Greencastle clients, able to handle withdrawals, deposits, wire transfers and a variety of other requests.

The four other employees work in the Terre Haute office. They are company President Donald B. Edwards, Executive Vice President James B. Exline, Executive Vice President and Co-Portfolio Manager Christopher S. Doll and Eric Brown who is responsible for private client and retirement sales.

The growth of Wabash Capital has been accomplished in a rapid but controlled manner reached by successfully anticipating, identifying and meeting their client's needs.

"We're unique in this business because we are able to provide one-on-one advisory services to plan sponsors, retirees and participants in the plan," explained Scott.

Wabash Capital has a broad range of clients that includes 20-year-olds to retirees, individuals to entire plans.

The company is seeing growth in retirement plans with simple IRAs and SEP IRAs and 401k plans.

"Our clients are folks who may not be able to have a professional manager that comes to talk with them. We do that. We're pleased to be involved with Putnam County residents and help them with their investment goals," said Scott.

"A successful investment outcome begins with a good roadmap. You need a well-defined set of objectives, a method to evaluate risk and a formula to measure and report performance," explained Scott.

At the other end of the spectrum, the firm is skilled in preparing and assisting retirement 401(k) plans and pensions for companies as well as individuals.

"The benefit of having an advisor for retirement plans is three-fold. It reduces the client's liability, improves the service and increases member participation," noted Scott.

Among the things they offer clients is a review and selection of investment funds as well as the ability to determine the percentage to be invested in each fund.

"We work one-on-one with plan participants, providing them with ongoing advice about their investments," said Scott.
