Milner installed on IAPSS Superintendent's executive committee

CLOVERDALE -- Superintendent of Cloverdale Community Schools Carrie Milner will be installed as a member of the 2009-2010 Indiana Association of Public School Superintendent's executive committee.

The IAPSS will install its officers during a ceremony today at Whiteland Community High School. The master of ceremony will be Donald Stinson, superintendent, MSD of Decatur Township. Superintendent of Clark-Pleasant Community Schools in Whiteland will be installed as IAPSS president.

Milner will serve a two-year term as IAPSS West Central District IV chairperson. She was not available for comment.

The association membership currently includes 423 members composed of Indiana public school superintendents, central office personnel and higher education instructors of school administration.

There are approximately 50 businesses related to school administration, which are current affiliate sponsors.

The purposes of the association are to "serve as an agent for the superintendency to help influence significant decisions pertaining to the education of all children in the state; provide in-service opportunities for the members of the association; strive to improve the profession of educational administration; maintain effective communication among the members of the association; and enhance continuing communications and cooperation with the Indiana School Board's Association and other professional public school administrative associations for the purpose of promoting common and professional interests."
