Putnam County Hospital has recently expanded the Respiratory Therapy department to include complete Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT).

Patients suffering from wheezing, shortness of breath and chronic cough can now be screened through the use of the Vmax Complete Pulmonary Function Testing System.

"The PFT System allows us to provide a complete service for our patients," stated Travis Stepro, RRT RPFT, Respiratory Therapy manager for PCH.

"We can assist them in finding answers to their breathing difficulties and monitor the evolution of their illness," Stepro continued.

Patients also living with asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and restrictive lung disorders and those preparing for operative procedures will benefit from the new service line.

All tests will be interpreted by a board certified pulmonary specialist.

A patient must have a referral from his or her primary care provider for the testing. To schedule a test, contact central scheduling at 658-2760.
