Jo Ann George

Jo Ann George, 69, of Greencastle died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at her residence.

She was born March 6, 1940, the daughter of Russell S. and Dorthy R. Kenney Myers. She was a graduate of the Mercer County High School in Harrodsburg, Ky. and received her Nursing Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She married James Earl George, and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Mrs. George had been a nurse with the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Souls Harbor Assembly of God Church in Plainfield.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Hutson, Lisa Swick and Rachel George; three brothers, Russell E. Myers and wife Peggy of Lexington, Ky., Terry Lee Myers and wife Darlene of Harrodsburg, and Wayne Myers and wife Barbara of South Africa; two sisters, Patsy Myers Collins and Linda L. Myers, both of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Larry Myers; a sister, Sandy Auxier; and a granddaughter, Gracie Elizabeth Hutson.

Services will be held at a later date in Kentucky. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
