Cloverdale schools hire new administrators
CLOVERDALE -- Cloverdale School Board announced it has hired Brent Sailor as the new high school assistant principal and Sheila Anderson as middle school principal.
Cloverdale High School will be getting more than just a new assistant principal. The board hired Amanda Hampton as a chemistry teacher and Greg Thomas as a business teacher.
In addition, Bonnie Helterbrand will be replacing Erin Sinclair as the high school receptionist and athletic secretary. Helterbrand has already been in the position temporarily, but was given full-time status.
Director of Extended Services Howard Bowen will not be returning to Cloverdale Community School Corporation. Bowen's contract was not renewed due to his position being eliminated.
Bowen had been with the corporation for three years.
Superintendent Carrie Milner said they might find someone in the future to take over Bowen's responsibilities, but for now there is not room for his position.
Board member Tony Hacker voted against the personnel changes. He said he supports the individuals who were hired, but has some procedural concerns.
Hacker wished luck to the students and staff in the 2009-2010 school year and to those not returning.
