Democrats prepare to fill Lanie's seat

With the resignation of Councilor John Lanie, the Democratic Party will be filling his position prior to next month's meeting of the Greencastle Common Council.

At Tuesday's meeting, City Attorney Laurie Hardwick explained the process by which a replacement will be selected. The party will host a caucus of the precinct committee people of Greencastle Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 on July 27. The meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Kiwanis Room of the Putnam County Public Library.

Those interested in the positions should submit a letter of interest by 72 hours prior to the meeting. The letter should be sent to Jinsie Bingham, 104 Bloomington St., Greencastle, IN 46135.
