Opal Irene Frazier, 101, New Ross, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Avon Health and Rehab.

She was born Nov. 3, 1907 in Putnam County, daughter of the late Robert and Cora McCloud Stewart.

She and her husband James were members of Harvestime Fellowship Church for many years and were contributors to its founding.

She was a homemaker and loved to write poems about people, especially her grandchildren. She loved to raise chickens and make homemade butter and cottage cheese.

Surviving are daughters Patty (Woody) Woodrum of North Salem, Marge (Joe) Stultz of Greencastle, Joyce (Art) Thomas of North Salem; sons, Ted (Marilyn) Frazier and Ron (Leslie) Frazier both of North Salem; and sister, Ruth Wethington of Ladoga; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

Her husband James A. Frazier, four sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.

Friends will be received Tuesday 5 to 8 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem.

Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 29 at 10 a.m. with Art Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.
