Edgar N. "Ed" Steele Jr.

Edgar N. "Ed" Steele Jr., 62, of Greencastle died on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009.

He was born on April 23, 1947 in Greencastle to Edgar N. Steele Sr. and Virginia Gail Crodian Steele.

Mr. Steele served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion and a life member of the VFW. He was employed by Fred Cox Trucking Greencastle.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Lynne C. Myers Steele; a daughter, Margo Steele of Greenwood; his mother, Gail Steele of Greencastle; one sister, Donna Williams and husband Jerry of Greencastle; three brothers, Gary Steele of Greencastle, Mike Steele and wife Rhonda of Heritage Lake and Bryan Steele and wife Peggy of Crawfordsville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

His father preceded him in death.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive, with the Rev. Jimmy Collins officiating. Burial with VFW and Military Honors will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.

Calling will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
