  • Rather then come and meet the teachers they have to throw an All you can eat buffet and make it nearly impossible to talk to anyone.

  • they have done this more than just the 2nd year, and I agree, you really don't get a chance to speak to a teacher very long, the kids are pushing and shoving to get to the food, I only go so I can meet the teacher because at South we have new ones all the time, they can't keep teachers, and to get the bonus points!!!!

  • I think this is a wonderful event and I appreciate the fact that the teachers and staff are willing to donate food and their time to meet parents. Only unhappy or bitter people would complain about teachers giving their time to meet parents during a casual evening. Parents are always welcome to call the school or meet with teachers if they need additional time to talk.

  • Unfortunately Servant is the part that many Public Servants forget. As a State Employee myself I answer to the taxpayer. Public School Employees, including Teachers and Administrators have the same responsibility and should avail themselves as much as practical. Many of the email links within the South Putnam School Corporation do not work, or they go unanswered, and several of my calls are never returned. Events such as this are nice, however it should not be the only gathering of all the staff where you can have a meaningful and productive conversation with your child's educators. No bitterness, just an expectation of accountability.
