Putnam County Jail

There were several individuals booked into the Putnam County Jail during the weekend for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Peter Rios, 47, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:21 a.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

John Hart, 24, Greencastle, was booked at 10:04 p.m. Friday for operating while intoxicated.

Shana Trinkle, 40, Crawfordsville, was booked at 8:19 a.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .15 or more, operating a vehicle while suspended, operating a vehicle without proof of insurance and possession of paraphernalia.

Gleason Oliver Wilson, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 11:13 p.m. Saturday for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Willy Hutchison, 34, Ladoga, was booked at 12:12 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Thomas Surber, 57, Valparaiso, was booked at 1:41 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Michael Havens, 58, Greencastle, was booked at 2:08 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se.

Aaron McAmis, 32, Rosedale, was booked at 4:03 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Seth Monnett, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 4:39 a.m. Sunday for operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Sierra Weddell, 22, Greencastle, was booked at 4:59 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Joseph Barthalow, 33, Roachdale, was booked at 5:17 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

James Kissel, 54, Aurora, Colo., was booked at 3:31 a.m. Monday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Angela Carter, 36, Greencastle, was booked at 4:56 a.m. Monday for public intoxication.

Phillip Hodges, 53, Indianapolis, was booked at 9:56 a.m. Saturday for habitual offender D-felony and failure to stop after an accident.

Johnnie Brown, 22, Cloverdale, was booked at 2:43 p.m. Sunday for violation of probation.

Putnam County Sheriff's Office

Mathew McPherson of Indianapolis was traveling north on CR 725E at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve. His vehicle traveled off the roadway and into a ditch.

McPherson stated the accident was due to wet pavement.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Joanna Hubbard of Dearborn, Mich., was traveling south on CR 525W near Greencastle at 2:45 p.m. Sept. 17, when her vehicle left the east side of the road for unknown reasons and struck a tree.

Seniour's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Logan Sparrow of Roger, Ark., was traveling west on Interstate 70 at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, when he slowed for a vehicle in front of his, which was making a left turn into the crossover. A vehicle driven by Tammy Ostachuk of Indianapolis was traveling behind Sparrow's vehicle at the time of the accident.

Ostachuk hit her brakes and swerved into the right lane, when her vehicle struck the back of a trailer being pulled by a vehicle driven by Jerry Langland of Allen Park, Mich. Ostachuk's vehicle then struck the right, rear of Sparrow's vehicle.

A friend of Sparrow's towed his vehicle from the scene, while the other two vehicles were not towed. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Thomas Jackson of Poland was traveling south on US 231 at 6:03 p.m. Sept. 19, when a vehicle driven by Tuo Wang of Terre Haute pulled into his lane of travel.

Wang was attempting to turn onto westbound Interstate 70 at the time of the accident. Both drivers stated they had a green light.

Steele's Wrecker Service towed Wang's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Ken Bathauer of Russellville was traveling south on US 231 near Fincastle at 5:37 a.m. Thursday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to rain. His vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert and a ditch before coming to rest in the road.

Kenny's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Dennis Morris of Brazil was traveling east on US 40 at 5:26 a.m. Friday, when his vehicle struck a horse in the middle of the road. Following his accident, driver Andrew Ellis of Terre Haute also struck the animal.

The accident report stated animal control was called to the scene.

Durr's Wrecker Service towed Ellis' vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Greencastle Police Department

Lawrence Casey, 50, Indianapolis, was stopped on S. Bloomington St. at 8:40 p.m. Friday and cited for false or fictitious registration.

The following accident was reported by GPD:

Jeffery Wells, 48, Brazil, was in the turn lane of Washington and Bloomington streets, when he looked down to set his drink in the cup holder and struck the back of a vehicle driven by Jerry Fields, 66, Cloverdale. The accident occurred at 3:35 p.m. Monday.

There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
