South Putnam falls to Tri-West in four games

GREENCASTLE -- The South Putnam volleyball team battled possible sectional foe Tri-West Wednesday, losing in four sets. The Bruins won 24-26, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-22.

Emily Dabkowski helped lead the way with nine blocks, 14 digs, 11 assists and six points, while Katelyn Sibbitt added 13 digs and nine points. Brooke Boetjer chipped in seven kills and eight blocks, with Rachel Egold adding five kills and seven digs. Ashley Wombles had four kills, five blocks and nine points in the loss.

South Putnam head coach Lindsey Blackman said the Bruins had a middle hitter who caused them trouble on the night. She also acknowledged that despite the loss, her team left the court with their heads held high after battling all match long.

South Putnam will host Rockville Monday at 6 p.m.
