Greencastle Police Department

Gina Ballenger, 22, Cloverdale, was traveling west on E. Liberty St., the wrong way on a one-way street, when she pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Francesca L. Shipsey, 17, of West Lafayette. The accident occurred at 12:23 p.m. Saturday at N. Vine and E. Liberty streets.

Ballenger was ticketed for traveling the wrong way on a one way. Shipsey's vehicle was towed from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Earl Madison Jr., 68, Spencer, was stopped in the eastbound turn lane of Indianapolis Road in front of Kroger at 11:45 a.m. Monday, when a vehicle driven by Marian S. Ullrich, 78, of Greencastle, struck the back of his vehicle.

Ullrich refused medial attention and Kenny's Wrecker Service towed her vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

The following tickets have been issued by the Greencastle Police Department:

Patrick Reilly, 21, Coatesville, was stopped on Fillmore Rd. at 3:39 p.m. Saturday and cited for speeding -- 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Sandra Masten, 49, Greencastle, was stopped on Indianapolis Road at 12:15 p.m. Monday and cited for disregarding an automatic signal.

Brandi McKinney, 25, Greencastle, was stopped on Washington Street at 7:18 a.m. Tuesday and cited for failure to yield for an emergency vehicle.

Putnam County Jail

Kelly Lashbrook, 26, Indianapolis, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 10:02 a.m. Friday for violation of probation.

Jeffrey Ruff, 32, Greencastle, was booked at 3:10 p.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while suspended.

Matthew Patterson, 22, Plainfield, was booked at 12:27 a.m. Saturday for theft.

Elliott Dixon, 22, Caroll Stream, Ill., was booked at 1:04 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication and battery.

Jerry Gibson, 49, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:34 a.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Bradley Ponzo, 41, Greencastle, was booked at 4:45 a.m. Saturday for possession of controlled substance and public intoxication.

Amber Wilde, 27, Camby, was booked at 10:25 p.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless driving and operating per se.

Casey Grayson, 25, Cloverdale, was booked at 3:50 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication and operating per se.

David Jones, 41, Poland, was booked at 6:31 p.m. Sunday for battery and criminal confinement.

Richard Romandine III, 30, Greencastle, was booked at 11:45 p.m. Sunday for violation of probation.

Joseph Chenault, 25, Martinsville, was booked at 1:39 a.m. Monday for public intoxication.

Derrick Justice, 29, Indianapolis, was booked at 6:45 p.m. Monday for failure to appear.

Carey Stapert, 35, Greencastle, was booked at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday for theft.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Phillip Burba of Indianapolis was traveling east on US 36W at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to run off the road and strike a sign.

His vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Lane Ralph of Greencastle was traveling on SR 240E near Greencastle at 8:30 a.m. Monday, when a deer entered the road. His vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Michael Osborn Jr. of Warsaw was traveling on Interstate 70E near Cloverdale at 8:13 a.m. Friday, when the right-rear tire on his Chevrolet Blazer broke causing him to lose control and run off the road.

No injuries were reported. Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Michael Tewes of Greencastle was traveling south on SR 243S near Putnamville at 9:10 a.m. Oct. 1, when a vehicle, which was traveling north, entered his lane. Tewes attempted to avoid a collision, but struck the guardrail. The other vehicle didn't stop, according to the accident report.

No injuries were reported. Tewes' vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Tamara Overstreet of Fillmore was traveling on CR 585E near Fillmore at 4:19 p.m. Oct. 1, when she rounded a curve and lost control of her vehicle due to wet pavement. Her vehicle slid into a ditch and she overcorrected, causing it to roll upside down. No injuries were reported.

Her vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Jordan Starr of Fillmore was traveling east on SR 240E near Greencastle at 1 p.m. Saturday, when a vehicle traveling west forced his vehicle off the road. Starr's vehicle struck a sign. It was not towed from the scene.

Charles Collier of Bainbridge was traveling west on US 40 near Mount Meridian at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, when a flat tire caused his vehicle to hit a guardrail. Curtis Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene.

Quental Weston of South Bend was traveling west on Interstate 70 near Cloverdale at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, when three deer entered the roadway. Weston attempted to avoid a collision, but lost control of his vehicle, slid sideways, struck a ditch and rolled several times. His vehicle came to rest inverted approximately 50 yards off the road. Curtis Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene.

There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Daniele Neese of Gosport was traveling south on US 231S at 3:18 a.m. Monday, when her vehicle struck a deer. Her vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched at 3:41 p.m. Oct. 1 to a car accident on Veterans Memorial Highway near Cash Concrete with personal property damage and personal injury. They were back in service at 3:52 p.m.

Crews were dispatched at 10:44 p.m. Oct. 1 to the 200 block of Northwood Boulevard for a welfare investigation. They were back in service at 10:58 p.m.

Crews were dispatched at 7:41 p.m. Saturday to 409 S. Jackson St. for an alarm. They were disregarded and back in service at 7:46 p.m.

Crews were dispatched at 4:20 a.m. Monday to 702 E. Seminary St. for a medical assist. They were back in service at 5:11 a.m.

Crews were dispatched at 10:14 p.m. Monday to 107 W. Indiana St. for an alarm. They were back in service at 10:24 p.m.

Crews were dispatched at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to 1230 N. Jackson St. for an investigation of tires on fire, which turned out to be pallets. They were back in service at 1:37 p.m.
