Putnam County Jail

Keith Shepherd, 32, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 3:14 p.m. Saturday for battery.

Melinda Wallace, 23, Gosport, was booked at 1:01 a.m. Sunday for operating while intoxicated and operating while suspended.

Maximillan Bush, 18, Greencastle, was booked at 1:30 a.m. Sunday for resisting law enforcement.

Justin Herd, 23, Greencastle, was booked at 3:52 a.m. Sunday for mischief and public intoxication.

Brittany Pierce, 23, Greencastle, was booked at 4:34 a.m. Sunday for operating while intoxicated.

Anita Sims, 50, Monmouth, Ill., was booked at 6:16 a.m. Sunday for disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and operating while intoxicated.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Kris Burton of Crawfordsville was traveling south on US 231N near Roachdale at 4:05 p.m. Oct. 6, when he attempted to retrieve a cigarette lighter, causing his vehicle to travel left of center and strike the back of a vehicle driven by Jammy Johnson of Wabash, spinning it clockwise.

Burton's vehicle continued to travel south and struck a vehicle driven by Evelyn Cooper of Gifford, Ill., head on causing both vehicles to spin clockwise.

Minks Wrecker Service towed Burton's vehicle from the scene. Johnson's vehicle was not towed, while Kenny's Wrecker Service towed Cooper's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Angel Stidd of Greencastle was traveling southeast on Dunbar Road at 7:25 a.m. Thursday when she approached a curve and the rear of her vehicle began to slide. She attempted to regain control and her vehicle slide "the other way," according to the accident report.

Stidd's vehicle traveled down a grass embankment, striking small trees and a metal post before coming to rest against a tree. Stidd and her passenger did not report any injuries at the scene.

Her vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated less than $750 in damages.

Jerrad Blacker of Frankfort was traveling on SR 236 near Russellville at 6:37 p.m. Saturday, when his vehicle struck a deer. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages. His vehicle was not towed.

Randy Norris of Mooresville was traveling east on CR 450N near Greencastle at 7 a.m. Friday and "forgot" about the intersection at CR 325W, according to the accident report. His vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence post and became stuck in mud.

Putnam County Operation Life transported Norris to Putnam County Hospital for complaints of back pain. His vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Chelsea Trammel of Greencastle was traveling west on CR 225S at 4:34 p.m. Friday when she lost control of her vehicle due to wet pavement. Her vehicle slid off the road, striking a guard wire owned by Duke Energy and cut it from the ground.

Her vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Donald Gilbrech of Poland was traveling west on SR 42W at 4:23 p.m. Friday when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a corner. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Steele's Wrecker Service towed his vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Greencastle Police Department

Greencastle police were dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Bloomington Street at 3:22 a.m. Saturday on a report of suspicious subjects observed in Ottawa Park.

Police confronted DePauw University student Andrew Emhardt, who advised them he and his friends were attempting to retrieve a vehicle wrecked by their friend, who was identified as Kaitlin Cassidy.

Cassidy had wrecked her vehicle at approximately 12:15 a.m. Saturday in a lawn owned by Ottawa Park. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Isabela Stasiukiewicz of Coatesville was making a right turn out the Putnam County Comprehensive Services parking lot on Tennessee Street at 3:09 p.m. Oct. 8, when her vehicle struck the side of a vehicle driven by Cheryl Gross of Greencastle.

Seniours Wrecker Service towed both vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Gwendolyn Kater White of Greencastle was traveling west on Indianapolis Road at 3:31 p.m. Oct. 8, when her vehicle struck the back of a vehicle driven by Christine Grounds of Cloverdale.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Darrel Brackney of Greencastle was traveling east on Washington Street at 10:49 a.m. Saturday, when a vehicle driven by Gale Stevenson of Whiteland, traveling south on Vine Street, pulled in front of his vehicle.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Brackney's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

James R. Borchert of Shelbyville was traveling east on Seminary Street at 4:25 p.m. Monday, when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Sherry Farmer of Mooresville. Borchert's vehicle struck the passenger, rear of Farmer's vehicle causing it to come to rest in the yard at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Steele's Wrecker Service towed Farmer's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Wanetta Harlan of Greencastle was backing into the drive at the National Guard on N. Arlington Street at 7:32 a.m. Tuesday, when she failed to see a vehicle driven by Patricia Funke of Indianapolis pulling out of the drive.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to the Moose Lodge, 212 W. Franklin St., at 10:22 p.m. Friday for an alarm. They were disregarded and back in service at 10:31 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Vine and Washington streets at 10:49 a.m. Saturday for a two-vehicle accident. They were back in service at 11:09 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Mason Hall, 402 Anderson St., at 8:15 p.m. Sunday for an alarm. They were disregarded and back in service at 8:17 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, but were disregarded. They were back in service at 10:07 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 410 S. Indiana St. at 6:23 a.m. Tuesday. They were back in service at 6:35 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 4 East St. at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for an electrical fire due to a plug-in for the dryer. Damage was limited to the plug area with minimal damage to the structure. Crews were back in service at 11:08 a.m.
