John William Anderson

John William Anderson, 88, of Avon died at his residence on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.

He was born at Paris, Ill. to Luther and Bertha Black Anderson. He married Pearl B. Miller on Feb. 11, 1942 at Greencastle. She preceded him in death on July 12, 1998.

Mr. Anderson retired from heat treat department at Link Belt after 36 years in 1983. He also farmed and sold wood.

Survivors include one son, John C. Anderson and wife Sue of Indianapolis; two daughters, Judith Ann Flint of Bainbridge and Rita Ellen Anderson of Avon; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Anderson of Greenfield; and three sisters, Ethel Calvert of Waveland, Helen Boller of Greencastle and Betty Allen of Silver Springs, Fla.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home at 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. Burial will be in Bainbridge Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
