CLOVERDALE -- Fall and Halloween festivities will be offered at Lieber State Recreation Area, Oct. 30 through Nov. 1, as the Lieber staff and the Friends of Cagles Mill Lake present Gobble-uns Weekend.

On Oct. 30, fall-color boat rides will be offered at 4 and 5 p.m. Cost is $1 per person. The limited seating will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested should meet at the boat docks.

Oct. 31 is packed with events from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with pumpkin decorating starting at 10 a.m. ($1 fee per pumpkin). Hayrides from the campground parking lot will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 5 p.m. Leaf print T-shirts, a pumpkin-rolling contest, a trick-or-treat bag project, Halloween craft, campsite-decorating contest judging and the announcement of the campsite-decorating winners and awards will be part of the day's activities. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., trick-or-treating will take place in the campground.

On Nov. 1, hayrides run from 10 a.m. to noon. Boat rides will be offered at 10 and 11 a.m. At noon, there will be a hillbilly golf tournament at the Nature Center.

The events will be held at the campground entrance. In case of rain, the events will be moved to the Hilltop Shelter. The usual gate fees of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle apply.
