Putnam County Jail

James Beaman, 23, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for petition to revoke probation.

Joshua Hartley, 27, Greencastle, was booked in at 8:06 a.m. Tuesday for theft.

Joseph O'Connor, 39, Greencastle, was booked at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday for petition to revoke probation.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Jonathan C. Orten of Brazil was traveling west on Interstate 70 near Cloverdale Monday, when he attempted to change lanes and caused a vehicle driven by Richard Burnett of Terre Haute to run off the roadway. Burnett's vehicle struck several small trees.

Glenn Hollis, a witness to the crash, followed Orten and obtained his license plate information. Orten was later contacted and stated he didn't realize an accident had occurred.

There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages. Curtis Wrecker Service towed Burnett's vehicle from the scene.

Melissa Fife of Reelsville was traveling east on CR 1000S near Cloverdale Oct. 11 when she lost "steering capability" to her vehicle, which caused it to run off the road, hit a ditch and flip over into a creek, where it came to rest.

Three female and one male occupant were transported to Putnam County Hospital. The male was "believed to be fine," the reported stated.

Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Ronnie Hensley II of Bainbridge was traveling south on CR 725W near Russellville Oct. 11 when he approached a curve and "oversteered." His vehicle traveled off the road, struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof.

Higgins Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Logan White of Fillmore was traveling on CR 700S near Belle Union Saturday when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Hailey Lewis of Russellville was traveling on SR 236W near Russellville when her vehicle entered the path of a vehicle driven by Janice Cox of Jamestown.

Lewis was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license with infractions. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages. Neither vehicle was towed from the scene.

Joseph Laudig of Poland was traveling north on US 231 near Cloverdale Saturday, when he misjudged a turn onto CR 900S and struck a vehicle driven by Danita Slatton of Greencastle.

There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Daniel Lydle of Stilesville was traveling south on SR 243S near Cloverdale Friday, when he failed to negotiate a 90-degree curve, causing his vehicle to run off the road and strike a utility pole.

The impact of the crash caused the utility pole to fall into the path of a vehicle driven by Cynthia Stahl of Lebanon.

There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. at 7:08 p.m. Tuesday for a fire alarm due to cooking. They were back in service at 7:24 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Peeler Arts Center, 10 W. Hannah St., at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday due to an alarm. They were back in service at 9:29 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Roy O. West Library, 11 E. Larabee St., at 9:06 p.m. Tuesday due to an alarm. They were back in service at 9:16 p.m.
