Daniel T. Foncannon

Daniel T. Foncannon, 69, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Nov. 5, 1940 in Clinton, he was the son of Paul R. Foncannon and Clara Szabo Foncannon.

Mr. Foncannon was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed playing intramural softball as a short stop for the Spangs, while stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.

After his service in the Air Force, he worked as a telecommunication engineer in the U.S., Philippines and Thailand, retiring in 2002.

He was a member of the Hungarian Lodge of Terre Haute, the National Box Car Association and American Legion Post 0312 of St. Charles, Mo., life member of the D.A.V., the Marine Corp. League and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1550, Greencastle.

He is survived by two sons, Daniel T. of St. Charles and Daniel of Richmond, Texas; two daughters, Amanda K. "Annie" Schulte and Megan Marie Foncannon of Richmond; nephew Timothy Foncannon of Rosedale; one grandson, A.J. Foncannon of Foley, Mo.; and long time friend Betty Marie.

His parents and two brothers Ronald and David Foncannon preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be announced in the summer.
