SPENCER -- The annual business meeting for the Owen County Heritage and Culture Center has been scheduled for Jan. 11.

The social program will begin at 6 p.m., with the meeting to start at 6:30 p.m. This meeting is open to the public as a way to introduce the center to all who might be interested in the work that is being done there. The center is in the Carnegie Library building, located at the southeast corner of the courthouse square at 110 E Market St., Spencer.

There will be a short program by young musicians who have been studying with Jamie Dixon. Light refreshments will also be served prior to the meeting.

Following business, the center will welcome local artist Ken Bucklew, who will be presenting a slide show of his work. Bucklew, who was born in Greencastle, grew up in Owen County just outside of Spencer. The Bucklew Gallery is currently located near the entrance to McCormick's Creek State Park.

His talents for drawing and painting were recognized early in his life by his elementary art teacher Ina Hight. He has won awards and acclaim both locally and nationally.

All guests are welcome to enjoy the art gallery, gift shop and museum areas on the upper level of the center before the entertainment and meeting begin or following the program.
