Musical variety show presented in Danville

Thursday, January 14, 2010

"An Evening of Variety in Music" will be presented as the first show of 2010, sponsored by the Keys, Strings and Other Things live music series.

The show will be at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Danville on Jan. 30 beginning at 7 p.m. and will feature musical styles that include folk, blues, classics, rock and original. (While the show is held in a church building, it is in no way intended to promote any particular religious point of view.)

Music will be performed by central Indiana musicians who will donate their talents for this benefit to help fund future music events. Scheduled performers include John Perrault and Brad Uebinger, Skylark, Rebecca and Sam, Dave Cravotta and Friends, and Bed and Breakfast.

John Perrault and Brad Uebinger will perform all original music that might be described as somewhat Americana, somewhat folk and somewhat country. Dave Cravotta and Friends bring energy and entertainment to the stage, and once in a while play some music, too.

Featuring original and cover acoustic rock, the trio has played together for more than a decade. Skylark's beautiful voice and mellow guitar will bring to the stage a number of original compositions, some drawn from personal experience, some reflecting the lives of others.

Sam and Rebecca deliver styles ranging from blues to folk to funny. Bed and Breakfast specializes in Irish pub songs and unusual modern folk music, to round out a solid evening of entertainment.

Suggested donation is $10 (children 16 and under $5). The church is located at 95 N. Jefferson St. in Danville, one block north of the courthouse. In the event of bad weather, call 317-892-4239 to check on cancellation.
