GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Community Foundation Youth Philan-thropy Commit-tee has elected its new leadership. Hilary Schroeder, a senior at Greencastle High School, was elected as youth chairman.

Ashley Bonifield of Cloverdale High School will serve as secretary. Lauren Kenny of Greencastle High School will serve as treasurer, and Jessica York of South Putnam High School will serve as publicity officer. Also, Amber Miner of South Putnam High School was appointed fundraising chairman. These officers will serve until the end of the semester.

The Youth Philan-thropy Commit-tee reviews grant applications from local youth wanting to make a difference in their community through service projects, but also conduct service themselves when they see a pressing need.

Youth interested in receiving a grant for their service project idea may submit a simple grant application, which can be downloaded at www.pcfoundation.org. Deadlines are the first of each month and applicants are encouraged to discuss projects with Community Foundation staff to determine eligibility, if possible.

Any student elementary through college-aged is eligible to apply. High school and college-aged youth interested in applying to be a member of the committee may do so in April when those applications will be available.
