Dogs, cats found homes at Adopt-A-Thon

To the Editor:

The Humane Society of Putnam County would like to thank everyone who helped to make the recent HSPC/Family Video Adopt-a-Thon a huge success! Mindy Cook, Greencastle's Family Video manager, and all of her staff went out of their way to make the volunteers, animals and public feel welcome and comfortable.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who transported, worked with and talked about the animals to potential adopters. Thanks to the HSPC shelter staff who freely gave of their time, energy, and expertise.

A special thanks to Beth Ann Newton and her Girl Scout Troop 10059 who put in so much time, effort and dancing. Thanks also to Susan of Big Bounce Fun House Rentals for face painting and popcorn.

The biggest thanks of all, though, goes to the wonderful people who decided to bring some of Putnam County's neediest dogs and cats into their lives and home.
