Senior center to offer new and expanded programs

GREENCASTLE -- People looking for work have a new service available to them at the Putnam County Senior Center. Anyone looking for employment can attend new computer training and employment classes offered from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays.

Anyone 18 years of age or older can sign up for the class, which will offer basic and beginning computer, e-mail instruction, resume building, online job search, online job application help, interview assistance and more.

Another service offered by the senior center is a medical transport service for veterans, seniors and residents with special circumstances. This is a transport service for those who need to go outside of Putnam County for medical help.

A donation is requested for those riding, which will help fund the program.

Anyone who needs more information, to sign up for a class or make a transportation appointment should call Reta at the senior center at 653-8606.
