GMS swimmers sweep Tuttle

GREENCASTLE -- The Greencastle Middle School swim team scored two wins over Tuttle Thursday. The girls' team won 129-57, while the boys' won 102-75.

Sydney Cassida won the 200 and 400 freestyle to lead GMS with two wins. Also picking up wins Emily Wheeler (100 IM), Quinci Miller (50 freestyle), Rosio Gomez (50 butterfly), Rachel Custis (100 freestyle) and Libby Brush (100 breaststroke).

The team of Wheeler, Gomez, Custis and Alexis Branagin won the 200 medley relay team, while Gomez, Brush, Rebecca Moore and Kristen Stevens won the 200 freestyle relay. Cassida, Wheeler, Miller and Custis paced the field to win the 400 freestyle relay.

For the boys team, Nash Firebaugh and Elijah Brattain picked up two individual wins. Firebaugh won the 50 and 100 freestyle relay, while Brattain won the 50 butterfly and 400 freestyle. Isaac Harms was victorious in the 200 freestyle.

Brattain, Firebaugh, Nathan Gardner and Jacob Kessler won the 200 medley relay, while Harms, Brattain, Firebaugh and Cameron Hinton teamed up to win the 400 freestyle relay.
