Janice Elaine Robertson, 73, of Cloverdale passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 after an extended illness.

Janice was born on Sept. 15, 1936 in Greencastle and was the daughter of the late Millard T. "Mid" and Christine E. Lewis Vaughan.

She was a lifelong resident of Cloverdale, where she was a farmer, teacher, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a 1954 graduate of Cloverdale High School, awarded her bachelor's degree from Indiana State University and was granted her master's degree by DePauw University.

She educated high school students at Mooresville High School and Monrovia High School, where she retired in 1994. She was awarded an outstanding teaching award for her dedicated service and excellence in teaching. Janice and her husband Bill owned and operated Thread Bear Embroidery. In later years, she and Bill enjoyed gaming and traveling in their motor home.

Janice leaves behind a loving and devoted husband, William "Bill" Robertson; son Billy Joe Walton and wife Beth of Mooresville; daughters Danna Bishop and husband Bill of Marion and Denise Oxford and husband Kevin of Cloverdale; and grandchildren Sara and Sean Walton of Mooresville, Kristin Hodge and husband Luke of Fairmount, Scott Bishop of Chicago and Devin and Janna Oxford of Cloverdale.

In addition to her parents, her husband Charles Daniel "Danny" Parker preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cloverdale Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to the time of service Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
