Putnam County Jail

Gabriel J. Balaz, 32, New Market, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday for petition to revoke probation.

Joshua W. Turner, 28, Reelsville, was booked at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday for non-support of a child.

Brian V. Ohler II, 29, Indianapolis, was booked at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for non-support of a child.

Kathryn Angela-Lynn Maybaum, 20, Greencastle, was booked at 10:56 p.m. Wednesday for failure to appear.

Jason E. Roman, 34, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:06 a.m. Thursday for petition to revoke probation.

Melvin E. Halfacre, 39, Carbon, was booked at 3:27 a.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and violation of probation.

Abraham G. Magana, 38, Los Angeles, was booked at 7:08 a.m. Friday for money laundering and possession of marijuana.

Eric Romero, 19, Downey, Calif., was booked at 1:57 p.m. Friday for money laundering and possession of marijuana.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Michael E. Mahoy of Roachdale was traveling north on CR 250E near Bainbridge at 6:08 a.m. Thursday when his vehicle struck a deer. Kenny's Wrecker Service towed his vehicle from the scene.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Corey J. McGuire of Bloomington was traveling on Interstate 70 at 11:24 a.m. Saturday, when he slowed to make a U-turn and a vehicle driven by Lana D. Garrison of Anna, Ohio, struck the left side of his vehicle.

Steeles Wrecker Service towed McGuire's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to assist VanBibber Volunteer Fire Department with a grass fire at 1:28 p.m. Thursday, but were disregarded en route. They were back in service at 1:35 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1010 S. Crown St. at 7:36 p.m. Thursday for a fallen tree across power lines. They were back in service at 8:18 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. at 1:17 p.m. Friday for an alarm. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 1:33 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 301 E. Seminary St. at 1:57 p.m. Friday for an alarm due to steam from a shower. They were back in service at 2:08 p.m.
