GREENCASTLE -- A discussion of "My Antonia," authored by Willa Cather, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. April 1, as part of the brown bag discussion at the Putnam County Public Library

The talk will begin with an introduction to the novel and Cather by Joe Heithause, a professor of English at DePauw University. Cather's book is part of this year's Big Read, which is designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.

PCPL has been invited to participate with the Vigo County Public Library in the Big Read. The VCPL received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest and extended the program regionally to include other libraries and schools.

"Join the library in the Big Read to read and discuss 'My Antonia' and come together as a community to celebrate this amazing book and writer from American literature," said Margot Payne, director of community relations at PCPL.

All programs are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Payne at 653-2755 ext. 118 or e-mail margot@putnam.lib.in.us.
