GREENCASTLE -- Nonprofit consultant Jillian Miller of the Indiana Non-Profit Resource Network will be coming to Greencastle April 26 to present a workshop titled "What's New in Nonprofit Governance and Must Have Policies."

This workshop is a part of the Putnam County Community Foundation's nonprofit learning series, which is geared toward community members who staff or volunteer with non-profit organizations and wish to build capacity in areas of fundraising, governance, marketing and more.

Workshops are informative and engaging. The workshop is being sponsored by the Indiana Leadership Association.

This workshop will identify emerging trends in the nonprofit sector and what policies are essential for every nonprofit to have in place to properly and effectively govern themselves. This workshop will go a step beyond the basic roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards, helping board members understand how to apply best practices and why they are needed.

The workshop will be held at the Walden Inn from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and includes a catered lunch. The cost to attend is $15 per person if registered by April 16 or $25 per person after and includes the meal and training materials.

This normally expensive workshop is being offered at a reasonable price due in large part to the sponsor.

To register for this workshop, visit www.pcfoundation.org or e-mail nshoemaker@pcfoundation.org. For more information, contact Eric Wolfe, director of community development at the foundation at 653-4978.

The Putnam County Community Foundation is a public charity established in 1985 to serve donors, award grants and conduct community development to enrich the quality of life in Putnam County.
