Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to an active alarm at DePauw University at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 6:54 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 309 Medic Way at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday for an alarm, but were disregarded by the alarm company. They were back in service at 3:23 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to assist Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department at a structure fire on Manhattan Road at 4:59 p.m. Wednesday. The first GFD unit arrived at 5:05 p.m., and helped other crews with extinguishing, overhauling and investigating at the scene. They were cleared at 8:05 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 100 W. Hanna St. at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday for a fire in a dumpster located in the parking lot beside DePauw University's track and field center. Hot charcoals thrown into the dumpster caused the fire. They were back in service at 8:43 p.m.

Crews were dispatched 106 S. Spring St. at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 8:54 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Walmart Distribution Center, 3333 S. 10th St., at 7:14 a.m. Thursday for an alarm. They were back in service at 7:19 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to DePauw University's Nature Park, 2924 S. CR 250W, at 4:23 p.m. Thursday for a grass fire. They were back in service at 5:06 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1205 S. Bloomington St. at 4:32 p.m. Thursday, but were disregarded. They were back in service at 4:38 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to CR 250S and CR 250W at 1:30 p.m. Friday for a medical assist with Operation Life. They were back in service at 2:12 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 405 E. Hanna St. at 2:33 p.m. Friday, but were cancelled en route. They were back in service at 2:39 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to CR 75N and CR 300E at 9:14 p.m. Friday due to a homeowner burning a fencerow. When crews arrived, the fire had been extinguished. They were back in service at 9:54 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 19 Beveridge St. at 10:57 p.m. Friday for a lift assist with Operation Life. They were back in service at 11:18 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 139 Woodhaven Drive at 6:34 a.m. Saturday for a lift assist. They were back in service at 6:51 a.m.
