GHS softball loses to South Vermillion

CLINTON -- The Greencastle softball team was nipped by South Vermillion 5-4 Tuesday on the road to move to 1-5 on the season.

Kayla Downing was 3-for-3 to lead GHS at the plate, with Jordyn Lewis adding two sacrifice bunts. Mallory Miller, Kaytlynn Beaman, Riley Seahorn, Skyanne White and Kandice Phillips all picked up hits.

Miller went eight innings, with eight strikeouts, 13 hits, five runs and one earned run in the loss.

On Monday, Greencastle fell to Terre Haute South 4-3 Monday Taylor Pruitt, Seahorn and Phillips all have three hits each.

Downing was the losing pitching, allowing two hits, two runs, two walks and two earned runs.
