Cherish the Children bowling event observes Child Abuse Prevention Month

Thursday, April 15, 2010

In observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Alex Alleys will be hosting the Cherish the Children bowling event on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Families with children 12 years of age and younger will find free bowling, free food and games at the event. Members of the Greencastle Fire Department and Greencastle Police Department will also be on hand with their vehicles.

The event is being funded by Community Partners for Child Safety and is also sponsored by Putnam County Family Support Services, Youth Development Commission, Mental Health America, United Way of Putnam County, Head Start and Johnson Nichols Health Clinic

"Alex Alleys has really been a good support for us and has done several fundraisers. It's a way for them to do some outreach to the community also," Carrie Cox of Family Support Services said. "Even though Community Partners is renting the facility, they gave it to them at about half the price of normal. They're really great like that."
