Reeslville students help raise funds for Relay

Bill Barnett, sponsor for the Reelsville Elementary Student Council uses a feather to tickle Angie Nichols nose after she was taped to the wall during a fundraiser put on by the Student Council to raise money.

REELSVILLE -- Students at Reelsville Elementary School were cheering loudly as they made catcalls to Office Assistant Angie Nichols who was taped to the cafeteria wall Friday.

"Miss Nichols--you look good. I brought my money," they cheered. Students were paying a $1 for a strip of tape to help secure Nichols to the wall of the cafeteria to raise money for Relay for Life.

It was the idea of the schools student council and their sponsor Bill Barnett. Strips were sold during lunch shifts with the goal of making her stick to the wall.

At the end of the last lunch session, students from all grades came back to the lunchroom at 12:25 to watch as the stool was pulled out from under her.

She stuck to the wall for less than a minute but she stuck. Afterwards students surged forward to help peel the giant pile of tape off her.

After her arms were taped, Barnett brought out a giant feather (to the delight of the students) he had in his pocket and proceeded to tickler Nichols nose.

"You better keep that away from me," laughed Nichols.

"I'm doing this because my brothers friend is really sick and I want to help," said Noah Buby who was picked to pull the stool out from under Nichols. It took a couple of good pulls but he managed to succeed and left her hanging on the wall.

The kids had a ball and they raised plenty of money.
