Putnam County Jail

Ralph J. Dill Jr., 24, Indianapolis, was booked at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday for criminal trespassing.

Derrick D. Garrett, 27, Beech Grove, was booked at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday for violation of probation.

Kevin A. Smith, 47, Shelbyville, was booked at 10:46 p.m. Tuesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Thomas King of Cloverdale was backing out of a parking space at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Cloverdale at 4:39 p.m. Tuesday, when he failed to see a vehicle driven by Lora D. Cummings of Quincy. King's vehicle struck Cummings' vehicle on the passenger side, causing minor damage.

Ryan Hewitt of Fillmore was pulling out of the parking lot at South Putnam High School on US 40 at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Jesse Bright of Greencastle, which was traveling east on 40.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Hewitt's vehicle; Bright's vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to SR 240E at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday for a vehicle fire. They were back in service at 5:31 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Veteran's Memorial Highway at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday for a motorcycle accident. They were disregarded en route by Operation Life and back in service at 8:19 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection of Jackson and Washington streets at 9:33 p.m. Tuesday for a vehicle accident. They were back in service at 9:55 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Limedale Arena on Manhattan Road at 11:29 p.m. Tuesday for a motorcycle accident involving a deer. They were back in service at 11:47 p.m.
