Pond Field Day set for April 26

A Pond Field Day sponsored by the Putnam County Soil and Water Conservation and Purdue University is scheduled to take place Monday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at Kevin Hutcheson's pond.

Bob Werhman will talk about why pond aeration is important to the health of a pond. Scott Wagner will discuss what to think about during the construction of the pond and Carole Lembi will comment on pond care and common problems.

The workshop is free and registration will take place at 3:30 p.m. the day of the event. Sandwiches and drinks will be provided.

The pond is seven acres and located at 4543 S. CR 25 W. To get to Hutcheson's, take S.R. 231 to Veteran's Highway. Turn on Cemetery Road until you get to a T-intersection. Turn left and follow the signs.
