Eagles defeat North Putnam on the track

The South Putnam Junior High boys' track team fought North Putnam Thursday, earning a 103-16 win.

Leading the Eagles' with first place finishes were Hunter Barr (2,400, 1,600), Tyler Neumann (110 hurdles, 400), Wes Riner (100, long jump) Ben Fiest (200, high jump) and Nathan Criss (shot put, discus).

The 400 relay team of Fiest, Arnold, Noah Taylor and Riner got a win, while the team of Taylor Criss, Quentin Humbarger and Neumann won the 1,600 relay.

Picking up second-place finishes for South Putnam were Berndt Freeman (2,400), Klayton Vittetow (110 hurdles, high jump, 800), Jared Hornaday (1,600), Zane Yon (200), Humbarger (shot put), Sawyer Arnold (discus) and Fiest (100).

South Putnam will be back in action at Speedway Monday.
