Putnam County Jail

Matthew F. Buis, 39, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday for reckless homicide.

Kevin Combs, 41, Indianapolis, was booked at 1:05 p.m. Thursday for child molestation.

Kimberly S. Hanks, 30, Fillmore, was booked at 10 a.m. Tuesday for theft.

Cynthia L. Jackson, 47, Spencer, was booked at 1:29 p.m. Thursday for violation of probation.

Andrew D. Johnston, 22, Greencastle, was booked at 6:37 p.m. Monday for theft, trespassing and violation of probation.

Todd Thomas Zane Marsee, 44, Coatesville, was booked at 2:15 a.m. Thursday for domestic battery, battery, criminal confinement of an adult and criminal mischief.

Sean McClamroch, 30, Bainbridge, was booked at 4:51 p.m. Friday for failure to appear.

Dipenbahi Patel, 26, Cloverdale, was booked at 4:05 p.m. Friday on a local warrant.

Aaron W. Perkins, 40, Land-o-Lakes, Fla., was booked at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday for non-support of a dependent and failure to appear.

James H. Roach, 42, Roachdale, was booked at 10:25 a.m. Thursday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication and a warrant out of Montgomery County.

Krista D. Robinson, 30, no city listed, was booked at 5:21 p.m. Sunday for neglect of a dependent.

Sherri A. Sanders, 36, Poland, was booked at 12:02 a.m. Thursday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Vicki L. Sellers, 38, Cloverdale, was booked at 5:46 p.m. Friday for violation of probation.

Brent Sykes, 41, Terre Haute, was booked at 11:35 p.m. Friday for possession of a controlled substance, trafficking a controlled substance and dealing in a scheduled drug.

Christopher B. Taylor, 23, Greencastle, was booked at 1:55 a.m. Saturday for violation of probation.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Several motorists have reported recent accidents with deer.

A Poland man was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting a deer. James T. Downham was traveling south on Manhattan Road at 11:28 p.m. April 20, when his motorcycle struck the deer and he was thrown into a ditch.

Downham was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene, according to the accident report. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Corey R. Shaw of Fairmount was traveling east on CR 1000S near Cloverdale at 10:14 p.m. Friday, when his vehicle struck a deer. There was an estimated $2,501 top $5,000 in damages.

Jessica D. Karle of Crawfordsville was traveling north on US 231 near Raccoon at 8:59 p.m. Sunday, when her vehicle struck a deer. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Rex A. Humbarger of Greencastle was traveling on US 40 at 9:10 p.m. April 16 when his vehicle struck a deer. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Robert D. Hardman of Brazil was traveling on CR 125S near Greencastle at 6:15 a.m. April 21, when his vehicle struck a deer, then a fence. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed his vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Rhiannon C. Simmons of Greencastle was traveling north on US 231 near Cloverdale at 12:47 p.m. Saturday, when her "vehicle had a sudden and uncontrolled pull to the right," causing it to leave the roadway, onto the shoulder and up a slight embankment before it rolled three times, coming to rest upright, the accident report stated.

Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Joseph S. Standeford of Monrovia was traveling on US 231 near Raccoon at 8:59 p.m. Friday, when his vehicle struck the guardrail and he lost control, crossing into the southbound lane and into a ditch before rolling onto its top.

Standeford was treated for minor scrapes at the scene and released. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Mindy M. Antis of Terre Haute was traveling west on Interstate 70 at 10:18 a.m. Friday, when items from a truck traveling in front of her fell into the roadway. The falling debris caused her to lose control of her vehicle, spin 360 degrees and come to rest in the eastbound lanes.

The truck, registered to Blitz Builders in Huntingbird, returned to the scene. Steele's Wrecker Service towed Antis' vehicle. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

James W. Knapp of Coatesville was traveling south on US 231 at 8 a.m. Friday, when he stopped to make a left turn onto Mill Street in Cloverdale and a vehicle driven by Timothy Underwood of Plainfield attempted to pass him. Underwood's vehicle struck the back of Knapp's vehicle.

There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Bonnie J. Journell of Greencastle was traveling south on CR 400S at 11:58 a.m. Thursday, when he attempted to make a left turn onto CR 300W and struck a vehicle registered to Janice C. Vaughn of Reelsville, which was traveling north.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Jounell's vehicle; Seniour's towed Vaughn's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 304 S. Indiana St. at 5:54 a.m. Saturday for an alarm, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 5:58 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1905 Sandalwood Drive at 11:45 a.m. Saturday to rescue a cat from the top of a tree. They were back in service 12:15 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 508 S. Jackson St. at 12:35 p.m. Monday for a smoke detector malfunction. They were back in service at 12:43 p.m.
