J was the middle son of Eugene L. and Carolyn Ellis Allan and was born Jan. 5, 1941 in Greencastle.

He was a 1960 graduate of Englewood High School in Jacksonville, Fla. and a very proud alumnus of the University of Florida (BSBA 1974).

J was a Gator supporter, a NASCAR and IRL fan and love to pay and watch most sports.

J was a highly trained "Green Beret" of the 1st Special Forces of the U.S. Army.

He spent most of his professional life as a real estate property manager, a real estate developer and as an executive in the moving industry and the facilities management field, but he was most proud to have spent the last five years of his life as a CSR in the accounts area for the Internal Revenue Service in Indianapolis.

J leaves a number of survivors to carry on his memory, including his beloved wife Sherry Allan and daughter Katrina Schneider (Tom). His special joys were his four grandsons, Brett Schneider, 13, Allan Schneider, 11, Zachary Schneider, 7, and Logan Witt, 12.

Also surviving are sister Sandra Ecker (Gene); and brother Jim Allan (Lucy); in-laws Franks and Mary Bernath; brothers-in-law Jerry Bernath (Helen), Terry Bernath (Phyllis), Larry Bernath (Paula), Garry Bernath (Sid) and Barry Bernath (Martha); and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, sister Nancy, brother Donald and daughter Tammy Witt preceded him in death.

J will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, with calling from 1 p.m. to service time.

J's family would like to thank Dr. Lawrence J. Born and Dr. Robert F. Manges for all their time in trying to keep him well.
